I apologize, loyal reader (all 3 of you) for not posting in a while. Life has moved a whirlwind pace and I have been slack.
On the weight front, now called the healthy front...I have not weighed in for a couple of weeks but I know my body is continuing to change. I bought a new pair of 'Lucky' jeans and they might already be too big! So far in March I have logged 40 miles on the treadmill. My goal this month is 60 miles. I have already run close to 120 miles in 2008 with a goal of 500 so I am right on track. I turned in my application for the Peachtree so all is good there.
On Tuesday night I had the rare opportunity to meet my childhood idol and have a real conversation with him, and the best part is I got to share it with my Dad! My childhood idol, if you are wondering is Ron Jaworski, who quarterbacked the Philadelphia Eagles to their only Super Bowl appearance until recently. As a kid growing up in Philly in the late 70's early 80's I had several sports idols; Jaworski, Mike Schmidt, Bobby Clarke, Dr. J and Andrew Toney to name a few, but for me it was Jaws who stood out. In my mind's eye I still see him staring at the sideline in his dark green #7 with a beard underneath his chinstrap. He was the 'Polish Rifle' and he took the Eagles to the top of the NFL. On Tuesday I found out not only was he all of those things but he is also genuine. He spent 15-20 minutes with us talking sports and business. He even listened as my Dad busted out stories of the 1960 Eagles.
On top of all of this coolness, we were at Philips Arena in the Club area and 6 of us were chosen to play 'Sumo Hockey'. I will post pictures when I get them but it was a BLAST! My team won 7-1 not that we kept score and I scored the 1st 3 goals of the game and leveled guys all over the ice and got leveled as well. Nothing like flopping helplessly on the ice in a 'fat suit' waiting to be picked up :)
