Week Three - Did I use 'performance enhancing' techniques?

No, I didn't rub on the 'clear'...at least the trainer told me it wasn't a steroid :)

First the stats:

Weight Loss in Week 3 - 1.8 lbs
Total weight lost - 6.8 lbs.
New Weight - 237 lbs.

So, I think I ate too much this week. I didn't feel great and I knew I stretched the POINTS a bit. Yesterday I was not looking forward to weigh in. In the past I'd have just blown off the meeting and convinced myself that I would make it up net week. However, there is a new Sheriff in town and his name is Reggie Hammond (name that movie...). Actually it's just the new me! So instead of blowing off the meeting I took off from the office at 4:45, ran home, changed and got to the gym at 5:15 with the meeting at 6:00. I set my Nike+ system for 30 minutes and the treadmill at 5.7 MPH. I steadily increased to 6.5 MPG and banged out 3.11 miles in 30 minutes. I dashed to the car, changed t-shirts and got to the meeting. I LOST 1.8 lbs. So, did the extra 3 miles cause it? How much 'water weight' does one lose from 30 minutes of running? Regardless, I am still on track and I also realize I need to be better. On a side note, a 3 mile run is getting easier and easier. On another side note, I also went to a new Allergy and Asthma Specialist yesterday. My breathing has been shitty at best in this heat. My lung function was between 46% and 74%. I made a comment that maybe I'll run better if my lungs are in better shape and the Doctor said at least you'll be able to run...to which I replied, "I'm doing 3-4 miles, 4 times a week" and he seemed a little surprised. Maybe there is hope for a marathon in my future!
